FRIDAY SOCCER MUSINGS

The Euro Championshp enters its 7th day today. As usual with big tournaments like this, there has been upsets, heartbreaks and triumps depending on how your team is performing.
The countries that has impressed me so far are Croatia, Holland and Portugal more so Croatia cos they are one the outsiders but with the way they dispatched a very strong German team brings to fore that they are also a force to reckon with.
The two host countries has not really performed to expectations with Switzerland already out of the competition and Austria just barely hanging on.

Meanwhile, the Transfer market is still very much active and with the recent appointment of Felipe Scolari as new Chelsea coach a lot of players has been linked coming to Chelsea because of him:

1) New Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari will be given an unlimited transfer budget to bring
the best players in the world to Stamford Bridge. (The Times)
Scolari will target Fernando Torres, Frank Ribery and Kaka with the Chelsea boss prepared to
pay £60m for the AC Milan star. (Various)Chelsea warned off Milan's Kaka
Ronaldinho has sent out a come and get me plea to fellow Brazilian Scolari as he looks for a
move away from Barcelona. (The Sun)
But Scolari will make Ronaldinho's Barcelona teammate Deco his first signing at Stamford
Bridge. (The Sun)
Scolari has already made his first signing as Chelsea boss with rumours he sanctioned the
recent acquisition of Portuguese right-back Jose Boswinga. (The Independent)
The Brazilian has told the Chelsea board to break the bank to keep Frank Lampard at Stamford
Bridge. (Daily Star)
Scolari is also interested in Real Madrid striker Robinho as he prepares for the departure of
Didier Drogba. (The Times)

2) Real Madrid will tempt Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo to the Bernabeu by
offering him £182,000-a-week. (Daily Telegraph)
3) Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor is eager for a move away from the Emirates Stadium
with AC Milan his preferred destination. (Daily Telegraph)
4) Xabi Alonso's proposed move to Juventus could be off with the Italian club unwilling to meet
Liverpool's £15m valuation. (Daily Express)
5) Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been linked with Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli.
