Lyon started the defence of their French Championat title on a winning note and the title race already looks like its going to be a one horse race with Lyon going for an eight consecutive league title. That must be a record in the modern era for any team in any of the Eurpean leagues.

A Nigerian Footballer Chinedu Ogbuike who is currently playing in the Olympic football tournament with the Dream Team IV as the Nigerian team is called has been recalled from he Olympic tournament by his club, a newly promoted first division German club. Reason for this could not be more that the Court of Arbritation for Sports (CAS) ruling that clubs are not bound to release their players for the Olympic tournament. This ruling has been critised by many as it deprives a player of representing his country in the biggest sports event in the world. Thankfully the clubs that took FIFA to CAS over this issue has since decided to allow their players stay and play for their countries, Lionel Messi of Barcelona been just one of the many players that was disputed about. I think this German Club shoud take a cue from Barcelona and Werder Bremen (also a German Club) and alllow this young man fulfil is ambition of playing for his country in this one in a lifetime event.

Am not an Arsenal fan but I think Henry has too much love for the Gunners for him to now join one of their fiercest rivals. But in football where money dictates the tunes and loyalty can be dropped at the wink of an eye anythinig is possible.
