The European football season is coming to an end and with it comes triumphs and heartaches.
In England all eyes will be on Wembley for the FA cup Final. The FA has a very rich tradition in England and a lot of appeal all over the world. Millions of football lovers will be tuning in to listen or watch the showdown between Portsmouth and Cardiff City. This match up wouldn’t have occurred to anybody as this will be one of the few times that one of the Big four (Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal) won’t be featuring in the final. It’s this kind of unpredictability to throw up underdogs once in a while that make the tournament appealing to fans the world over. I hope the two teams will go all out and give the fans a wonderful display. If I were to put my money on who team will carry the cup, I might just pick Portsmouth. Though they’ve lost their last four matches in the run up to this final but I think they have the better and more experienced players to just nick it.
But as they say may the best team win!
The Italian League Title will be decided on the final day of matches with Inter Milan and AS Roma still both capable of winning the title. Inter Milan’s form has sort of dipped in their last three matches dropping valuable points while Roma has just kept the pressure on.
Inter has a more difficult match away against Parma who are fighting against relegation. With just a point separating the two teams it would be a very hard one to call.
The French League has been dominated by Lyon. They have won seven (7) successive league titles but this year they have been pushed all the way to the final day by Bordeaux. Lyon has the title to lose but in football anything is possible.
The Nigerian League has two matches remaining and for the first time it might just go down the wire with about four teams still in contention for the title. Four points just separates the top four teams. The pick of the match this weekend is one between second placed Bayelsa Utd and leaders Kano Pillars in Yenogoa. Heartland of Owerri and Niger Tornadoes are the other two teams that are still capable of winning the league.
